Happy 2025 Luna new year!! We had great time on the Luna New Year's Day!! Spicy sauce won ton shrimp & pork was good!! We would want to comeback to try different menu!

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat around the area and found this restaurant that had relatively good reviews. We saw they had XLB and decided to check it out. It's located in a very small building next to a barbershop and across of Izakaya Danji Honolulu and Queen Ka'ahumanu Elementary School on Beretania St. There's a very small parking lot with maybe 6 stalls but quite a bit of free street parking around the area. My friend and I ordered a ton of food and shared family style as it was a Chinese restaurant with huge portions. We ordered: - Shao Long Bao (XLB - pork soup dumplings) - they were quite good! Loved how there was 8 rather than the normal 4 or 6 soup dumplings. However, I don't believe they were house made which was kind of a disappointment. But understandable as they're one of the more difficult items to homemake. - Spicy Sauce Wonton Shrimp & Pork - this was very good. Loved the sauce, and the amount of protein in the wontons were not sad and skimpy which was the biggest plus. They were quite plump and delicious! - Shanghai Noodle with Chicken - lots of flavor in the dish with a variety of proteins and vegetables. It wasn't too salty or bland which was a good starch to have with the other dishes we ordered. But I overall didn't really care much about this dish. - Orange Chicken - at first, I was kind of skeptical in ordering this but my friend wanted it. Orange chicken was one of the few Chinese foods that I'm skeptical of because it was not a true Chinese dish (lol). However, this dish surprised me! The chicken was coated very well in both flour and sauce. It had such a nice crunch and the flavor of the glaze wasn't too overwhelming (just a tad too much in my opinion). But the crunch was what really made the dish really good. I found it kind of funny that there were oranges under all the chicken as well (peep at pic). Overall, this restaurant was pretty good! There's an extensive menu of literally everything that probably won't be found in other restaurants to choose from so if I ever want to make my way back, I would love to try their other items on the menu, such as their peppered salted pork spareribs, jellyfish, shao bing sesame bread.

Dew Drop has been at the same location since the 80s. It's one of the very few local mom and pop restaurants that I like going to. The owner Charlie and wife, Becky, cook up Taiwanese dishes with a local taste. The dumplings are good as well as their ground pork sesame bread pockets. Finish your meal with some black sesame balls. This is a small restaurant seating around 25 people comfortably, but can probably pack 35 diners. Becky runs the front of the house and Charlie does the cooking. Their son Jimmy helps out both in the front and in the kitchen. They have a parking lot next door to the restaurant that has space for 8 cars. If that is full your option is street metered.

We've been looking for a great Chinese restaurant in the area. Came across this joint. Nice mom and pop feel. We ordered for take out. Orange chicken was good. Probably a bit better than foodland's but below whole food's. Shrimp with veggies was good. Meaty portions of shrimp. Veggie egg rolls had a nice crunch. Portions were enough as well. Service for take out was good. Overall 4/5 for me.

First time trying this restaurant, and i'm ready to come back again!! They have a small parking lot to the left of the restaurant, and you can also park on the street right in front of the restaurant after 6pm. I came in at 5:45pm and it was slow; but then quickly filled up about 10 mins after. I ordered the orange beef and mapo tofu. The mapo tofu came out first and it was good and a bit spicy, which they do describe on the picture. The star of the show for me was the orange beef! It came out maybe 5-10 mins after the mapo tofu but it was worth the wait. It was perfectly crispy and flavorful with the orange sauce. I loved the texture more than orange chicken. I can't wait to come back next time and get this! The employees were very nice and friendly.

Great flavors, complex and nuanced texture for crispy duck and orange beef. Excellent service and clean restaurant. Nice decorations and wall art.

Dew Drop Inn is a charming, hole in the wall place offering delicious northern Chinese food. We drive past this all the time and finally decided to take the chance last night. Food/Drink: BYOB a plus. 4.5/5 All dishes were delicious! We ordered: +Shanghai Pork Meat Buns ($24.95) - this was a large portion and great to share with table. Similar to Manapua - but this is crispy on the outside and filled with juicy pork inside. Served with the a side of black vinegar sauce. A must! +Orange Beef ($18.95) - this was my favorite dish of the night. Perfectly crispy pieces of fried beef, covered in the most authentic orange sauce. Puts Panda Express to shame! +Crispy Roast Duck - Half ($23.95) - Flavorful and juicy - but not as crispy as I thought. Served with hoisin sauce. Delicious. +2 Bowls of white rice ($2 each) Always need rice to accompany meat dishes! Value: For the large portions and high quality, It was sure worth it! We did have some leftovers, which he boxed for us with a side of black vinegar sauce. Service: Not only was the food amazing, but the service was equally as good. What sets this place apart from most Chinese restaurants is the service! Only one young friendly male server working the front as taking orders, delivering dishes, and tending to all customers. He was attentive throughout our dinner and checked in on us appropriately. Wait: It was very busy with mostly locals dining, but surprisingly we only waited about 15 minutes for a table. I'd call and make reservations if you planned to come in a larger group. Lots of takeout orders as well. Location/Parking: The con: location! There's a very small lot located in the right side, with only a few spots and mostly street parking. None were available, so we had to park a few streets over and walk. Very busy street. We would definitely come back again in the future!

Dishes that we like from this place: - roasted duck (moist & tender breast, the skin is overly salty of eaten by itself but should be perfect with rice) - cold chicken with ginger scallions sauce. The sauce is super fragrant. It's the best part of the dish We also tried the below 2 dishes but they cooking style is different than what we used to so we are not liking them as much. Both are delicious, just different than our expectations: - oyster noodle soup - spicy intestine hotpot

My visit to Dew Drop Inn is long overdue, and I must say, it was well worth the wait. Although I had been thwarted by their closing days on several attempts (they're closed two days a week), persistence paid off, and I finally got to experience their offerings. Dew Drop Inn serves up a pretty traditional menu, with plenty to choose from. The dumplings were solid, delivering that comforting, familiar taste that you crave with dumplings. But the true standout of my visit was the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. It was simply the best dish I've had from this location, rich in flavor with perfectly cooked noodles and succulent beef - a real treat for the taste buds. I'm looking forward to returning to Dew Drop Inn over the coming months to further explore their menu. If the beef noodle soup is any indication of the overall quality and taste of their other dishes, I expect many more delightful meals here.
